Allbridge and K4Connect Announce Strategic Channel Partnership to Improve Senior Living Resident Communications

Industry innovators partner to deliver an unmatched digital experience for residents and staff

Allbridge, the leading provider of data, video, and voice solutions for hospitality, senior living, and healthcare properties, and K4Connect, today announced a partnership to bring seamless digital experiences to thousands of senior living communities across the nation. Allbridge will deliver K4Connect’s flagship solution, K4Community, to senior living operators to better connect residents with family, friends, and care providers through advanced digital communication and information tools. Allbridge customers will also have access to K4Community Team Hub, the comprehensive community management tool for staff teams.

There are over two million older adults living in senior care communities throughout the U.S. The technology needs of this demographic are rising in smartphone adoption, social media use and more. Recently, the COVID-19 pandemic has further accelerated the need to reach seniors with digital tools that keep them informed, connected, and engaged while experiencing longer periods of isolation during quarantine. Allbridge and K4Connect are delivering these resources to communities of all sizes and care settings through information, communication, and engagement tools for residents, and mass community management tools for staff.

“Together with K4Connect, we are able to reach senior living communities with dynamic digital solutions that empower residents and transform the work day for staff teams. Combining the K4Community senior living resident and staff solutions alongside our industry-leading data network, video, and voice products, makes for a seamless package of enterprise digital solutions these communities need now,” said Craig Snelgrove, EVP of sales for Allbridge.

Allbridge is an end-to-end provider who can support all in-room resident technologies for data, video and voice, scaling to meet changing needs and reducing capital expenditures while freeing staff to focus on other internal IT priorities. In partnership with K4Connect, Allbridge will be reselling three core K4Community products specifically designed for senior living residents and staff:

  • Digital Signage: Community digital signs displayed throughout campus deliver quality experiences and content, keeping residents, staff and visitors constantly informed.
  • Insertion TV Channel: Reaching residents directly in their homes through the community TV channel, residents stay up to date on the latest community news, daily information such as menus and activities, as well as critical communications during emergency scenarios.
  • K4Community Plus (Mobile App): Available for iOS and Android devices, K4Community Plus is a robust resident application, including features for communication (e.g., video calling for both residents and families), engagement (e.g., event sign-ups), information (e.g., community news and a Community Social Feed tool), and more.
  • K4Community Team Hub: The comprehensive community management staff tool that supports the K4Community solutions through content creation and publishing, resident and family communication, and a variety of productivity tools.

“This is a powerhouse partnership. Joining our K4Community solutions with Allbridge’s network expertise ensures the highest quality digital experiences for the senior living communities we serve. We are now able to reach even more communities with these technologies with the added value of their established success in the hospitality and senior living markets. We’re excited to introduce Allbridge as our first official channel and infrastructure partner, and honored to work with such a talented team of experienced digital innovators,” said K4Connect Vice President of Business Development, Ian Sanders.

Raleigh, NC; July 21, 2020 – A new, interactive, in-room entertainment solution is now available from Allbridge, the leading provider of data, video, and voice solutions for hospitality, senior living, and healthcare properties nationwide. The DIRECTV Advanced Entertainment Platform (AEP) brings free-to-guest, on-demand, and app-based content from popular networks such as SHOWTIME with a customizable, user-friendly interface and antimicrobial remote.

This new offering enhances Allbridge’s array of over-the-top (OTT) video offerings, delivering a new, cost-effective option for those looking to provide an enhanced DIRECTV user experience for their guests and residents. Through an in-room set top box, this next generation solution adds cloud services to HD COM3000 Systems, combining DIRECTV linear satellite and streaming OTT content into a single platform. With cloud-based monitoring and a reliable, energy-efficient design, this all-encompassing solution transforms the entertainment experience.

When turning on the television, the viewer is greeted by a user-interface customized for the property with brand elements such as their logo, colors, and background image. The easy search-and-highlight menu and simplified guide design enable users to easily navigate to one of the many content selections. AEP delivers traditional DIRECTV channels with hit shows, breaking news, sports, and local channels, delivered via satellite with no broadband consumption, and 4K, HDR, and HD satellite channels are supported. The AEP provides Pro:Idiom decryption capabilities to upgrade any commercial TV for cost-effective programming delivery. Properties can also add their own custom channels to share information with guests and residents with local and over-the-air content insertion features.

In addition to linear content, AEP includes easy to use on-demand streaming content. The platform comes with the DIRECTV On Demand app, which provides access to thousands of hours of popular programming content from the most popular TV networks on demand. Viewers can also choose to use the SHOWTIME App to stream an extensive collection of premium entertainment titles like Billions and Shameless, plus movies, sports, and documentaries. Guests and residents can also use the Hallmark Channel Everywhere App for a wide range of family-friendly content. Music Choice on Demand rounds out the lineup. Users do not have to enter any personal information to access this content, but rather simply click on the tiles in the UI. They are available at no cost to the user.

The platform stays current with cloud-based content delivery and system updates to meet changing market needs.
